Below you will find detailed information about what “Cookies” are, what type this website uses, how you can disable them in your browser and how to specifically block the installation of third-party Cookies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are files that can be downloaded to your device through web pages. They are tools that play an essential role in the provision of numerous information society services. Among other things, they allow a website to store and retrieve information about a user’s or device’s browsing habits, and depending on the information obtained, they can be used to recognize the user and improve the service provided.

Tipes of cookies
According to the entity that manages the domain from which cookies are sent and processes the data obtained, two types can be distinguished:
First-party cookies: Those that are sent to the user’s terminal device from a device or domain managed by the publisher itself, from which the service requested by the user is provided.
Third-party cookies: Those that are sent to the user’s terminal device from a device or domain that is not managed by the publisher, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.
In the case where cookies are installed from a device or domain managed by the publisher but the information collected through them is processed by a third party, they cannot be considered first-party cookies.
There is also a second classification according to the length of time they remain stored in the client’s browser, which can be:
Session cookies: Designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are usually used to store information that only needs to be retained for the provision of the service requested by the user on a single occasion (e.g., a list of products purchased).
Persistent cookies: The data remains stored on the device and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the cookie owner, which may range from a few minutes to several years.
Finally, there is another classification with six types of cookies according to the purpose for which the data obtained is processed:
Technical cookies: Allow the user to navigate a website, platform, or application and use the different options or services it offers, such as controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted areas, remembering items in an order, completing the checkout process, submitting registration or participation in an event, using security elements while browsing, storing content for video or audio playback, or sharing content through social networks.
Customization cookies: Allow the user to access the service with certain predefined general characteristics based on criteria on the user’s device, such as language, type of browser used to access the service, regional settings from which the service is accessed, etc.
Analytical cookies: Allow the responsible party to track and analyze the behavior of users on the websites they are linked to. The information collected through these cookies is used to measure website, application, or platform activity and to create user navigation profiles, in order to introduce improvements based on the analysis of how users interact with the service.
Advertising cookies: Enable the most efficient management of advertising spaces.
Behavioral advertising cookies: Store information on user behavior obtained through continuous observation of browsing habits, allowing the development of a specific profile to display targeted advertising.
External social media cookies: Used to allow visitors to interact with content from different social platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), and are generated only for users of those social networks. The use of these cookies and the information collected are governed by the privacy policy of the corresponding social platform.
